WLYC Represented on Women's Day at Cowes Week

West Lancashire Yacht Club had a proud moment at Cowes Week 2025, as Kitty Williams was selected to join the RYA Sunsail crew of Mermaid Spirit for the event's celebrated Women's Day.

When the Club won the RYA Sunsail Funding the Future Award, we knew it was an honour but we didn't realise it would also open the door to such an incredible opportunity. Kitty's selection to the all-women crew was a fantastic recognition of her sailing skills and commitment. Check out the article in Yachting World here .

Taking on the Solent's lively racing conditions, Kitty and her teammates powered Mermaid Spirit to an impressive third place overall in their class an outstanding achievement in one of the most competitive regattas in the world.

Congratulations to Kitty for representing WLYC with style and skill on the national stage!
