Easter Eggstravaganza

Whether your focus is on chocolate eggs or something more significant, Easter is a special time of year. It is a season of anticipation as new life springs forth and we get ready for the long warm days, looking forward to spending time out on the water. Yet for some people the excitement of Easter Egg hunts and chocolaty surprises will be in short supply. Whether it is illness or challenging personal circumstances, Easter can also be a tough time. And thats why weve joined our friends at Ocean Plaza in helping to bring a little ray of sunshine to those who are in hospital or for whom Easter is just another day to struggle through.
Alder Hey Childrens Hospital holds a special place in many peoples hearts, providing a caring environment for the younger members of our community and a source of hope for their families. Likewise, Sefton Childrens Services supports families in need across our town and wider borough. Through the generous donations from WLYC you have supported these very worthy causes, helping to put smiles back onto the faces of many young people. On Monday 30th March some of our junior club members, Autumn, Savannah, Freya, Annabelle and Sophie went along to meet Tracey and her management team from Ocean Plaza to hand over the eggs donated by WLYC members. Judith, our faithful junior training host was also on hand, along with parents.
Through partnerships like this, our relationship with Ocean Plaza is growing. As one of the sponsors for the annual 24 Hour Race, Tracey and the team at Ocean Plaza are keen to play a key role in supporting the development of our junior sailors. For which we are egg-tremely grateful!
