    WLYC 24 Hour Race wins RYA Event of the Year 2025!

    Southport shines again! The WLYC 24 Hour Race has won the prestigious Event of the Year Award at the RYA Dinghy Show, a fantastic recognition of the collaboration between competing clubs, and the dedication and passion of the volunteers that went into making the event a success.     Good news for West Lancs training!

    West Lancs has been awarded grants of £3,000 by Trinity House and another £1000 by Liverpool Marine Engineers & Naval Architects Guild to support junior training.     Enjoy the Winter Social Programme!

    Enjoy the Winter Sailing Programme!

    Throughout the coming winter months we're going to make the Club Training Boats available for training courses, pop-up training sessions and social sailing. So we won't be de-rigging the training boats this year. 'If the weather's nice, why not come for a sail?' says WLYC Training Principal Ian Hughes. The Sunday 'Frostbite' racing series at Southport Sailing Club (SSC) started  Sunday 3rd November with 16 boats on the water including 5 from West Lancs.
