West Lancs Senior Endurance team wins 2025 Sunrise to Sunset Race at Pennington Flash!

Our senior endurance team took first prize in this year's Sunrise to Sunset (S2S) Race at Pennington Flash on 14th June, under the burgee of Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club, building on our second placing in 2024.

The S2S Race, under the burgee of Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club, is one of three major sailing endurance races run in our region which are unique in the national sailing calendar, along with the National Junior 12 Hour Race on 28th June run by Southport Sailing Club and the WLYC 24 Hour Race on 13-14 September at West Lancs Yacht Club, also on the Marine Lake in Southport. 

The endurance races are a test of teamwork, strategy and stamina and help competing clubs build a spirit of camaraderie.
