The free taster sailing sessions on our second Open Day on the Bank Holiday Monday 26th May are nearly 'sold out', but don't let that stop you — come and enjoy the spectacle! If space allows, we may be able to get you out on the water during the afternoon session.

Please be aware that we are expecting lively wind conditions. In the interests of safety, we may need to limit the number of visitors who go out on the water on Monday and will make a careful assessment of conditions on the day. The good news is that if you are ready to give it a go, our experienced instructors will be ready to take you out in controlled conditions.

Why not talk to us about joining on Monday? Membership is available on Monday at a 40% discount to the annual cost! If you want to find out more about joining WLYC as a member, we're here to help! Whether you're keen to learn, race, or just enjoy the social side of the club, we'd love to welcome you aboard. We offer RYA training to all age groups from age 8. It's not expensive! There's no joining fee and membership costs less than £5 a month for juniors, less than £10 a month for teenagers and young adults and less than £20 a month for adults, with discounts for seniors. These costs are charged pro rata for the first year. Members can hire club boats at £10 per day.
Relax by the lake with a gourmet BBQ from D'vine Catering and enjoy the best view in Southport. The bar is open from 11am on Monday 26th, so why not enjoy a cool drink in the sunshine? Feel free to come on down and be part of the fun!
Interested in sailing for kids? Our OnBoard programme starts Saturday 21st June, offering non-members aged 8 to 18 up to 3 beginner sessions for just £5 each. Adults wanting to learn are also welcome. Sessions must be pre-booked and are subject to availability.
