Sefton Council recently informed us that for those attending the 24 Hour Race (competitors, supporters and club members) the charge for the tickets for the Marine Drive, Public Car Park has been increased from £1.10 to £4.20 for the weekend. The 24 Hour Race Committee challenged this ruling but our bid was unsuccessful. We further asked for a dispensation for all those volunteers helping to run the event; once again our request was not accepted. Being informed so close to the event has made managing this significant change in policy very difficult to implement, and we ask for your understanding.
All cars parked in the Designated Marine Drive 24 Hour Race Car Parks off the WLYC site must display a “WLYC 24 Hr Race 2018 (Member / Helper)” permit, together with a £4.20 “Pay & Display” ticket purchased from a parking meter.
Do not use a mobile phone to pay for the parking ticket.
As usual the normal Club Car Park will be used for the Grandstand, Scrutineers cabin, First Aid Centre and supplementary toilets. Additionally, with the possibility of 75+ entries, we shall need to use the normal Club Car Park as an extension of the 24 Hour Race Dinghy Park. Therefore, there are only a very limited number of spaces available in the Club Car Park and access to the Club Car Park will be restricted to those displaying a “Club Car Park” permit.
